Noah explores measurement as he combines the ingredients for challah. Sarah experiments with rhythm as she shakes her grogger while listening to the Megillah. And Sophie is introduced to the wonders of science when she grows her own parsley in time for the Passover Seder. At the Lerner Preschool, play leads to exploration, discovery and learning.

Weaving Judaism into Each Day

Hebrew and Judaics are joyfully integrated into the preschool experience through storytelling, art projects, cooking and song time. Jewish holidays are happily celebrated through activities and customs designed to introduce preschoolers to their rich Jewish culture.

A Nurturing and Enriched Environment

Whether it’s open-ended creative play—like searching for gems in the sand—or quiet reading time, our preschoolers always have permission to simply be kids. Here are a few of our enriching opportunities:

Getting Kindergarten-Ready

By focusing on rhyming, beginning sounds and letter recognition our Emergent Literacy program prepares preschoolers for reading and writing. Creating stories through dramatic play is also an integral part of getting children ready for our broader Language Arts program. Plus, hands-on activities such as cooking, planting, shape learning and nature study excite and inspire interest in math and science.

Keeping Parents Involved

Our preschool parents have many ways to share in their children’s preschool experience.

Our Preschool Credentials

The Lerner Preschool holds a NC state Five-Star license. Our Preschool Director is a certified teacher with a Level 3 Site Administrator credential. Our student/teacher ratio meets The Five-Star standard of 1 teacher for every 9 students. Our lead teachers are certified, and all other teachers are credentialed by the state.
