Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Below is an overview of our 4th grade curriculum.

Language Arts

Students continue to be instructed in ways to express their ideas effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing. The emphasis of the reading program shifts to reading to acquire information rather than learning to read, however, Literacy Groups remain an important component of the program. In 4th grade the students continue developing their skills of writing personal narratives, essays and expository, persuasive and creative writing.
Ongoing units of study include: vocabulary; spelling; types of sentences, parts of speech and punctuation.
